Theories of Family Interaction
One goal is to become a social scientist and to understand the family in ways that are considered theories. There are four main theories that I want to review and mention how I have come to experience these theories not only from observation but in my friends and other families I have come familiar with. 1. The systems theory (created in 1978 by Family Therapist Murray Bowen) is broadly mentioned how a family functions as a system. There are roles and rules that are taken on and developed in the family and the system isn’t much affected by outside influence. So in the shoes of the family therapist when trying to help an individual must look at the whole family when addressing the problem. For an individual that finds themselves in this scenario or “theory” you should try to work on your individuality and think logically if your effected in a negative way being in your “family system”.
